Do not trust what the consulate website says
In 2001 i had my passport renewed in NY
they insisted...and were adamant...that it had to be 11 mnths to expiry not 12 mnths...it makes no sense but they don't care.
they also don't care what the web site says.
i was told that if i wanted to travel i could get a temporary passport, since mine was full...and btw it was damaged (old, overused and beginning to come off at the sea...which is why i wanted a new one) so i would pay a large penalty, and a mnth later when i returned a could again apply for a new passport since it would be 11 mnths to expiring.
make sense if you can!

Means if we ask for AC21 then they ask for this kind of details? Also What is the Probability they ask for these details. Now I have 2 more questions:
1. if you are on H1 extension then you get new LCA at the time of H1 extension. If your current location and job are same as specified in the h1 extension LCA. (If you were working at wrong location at the time of first H1 but during the H1B extension you are working at the location specified in the LCA. Now how much is the possibility that they ask for the details for LCA Of the first H1B. Or tey look into only latest LCA).
2. One more question: If your LCA shows the city name LA but you are actually not specific in LA city but you are in LA county then is that location considered to be correct OR this is still violation?

Lately the members of IV have come to know that Aman Kapoor, the co-founder of IV has sold his house and spent around $64000/- towards the administrative costs of IV. This too was brought to our attention from a regular member like you and me, without which this would not have come to our knowledge at all.
So some of the members have taken an initiative to reimburse Aman and other core IV team members with the expenses they have incurred so far towards the administrative costs of IV. Note that the time they have spent and the sufferings cannot be compensated. Let us do the least by atleast compensating the money. Please do not donate directly to IV funds.
There is a funding drive in this other thread towards reimbursing the administrative costs of IV.

I was thinking that I can get the F1 > Opt > H1 > File 485 thru EB2 Since my spouse's 485 is stuck in mud with priority dated 2003 EB3 category. So, I was wondering that can I have file my own 485 EB2 parallel to my spouse EB3. I would really appreciate if you could provide guidence or alternative approach. Once again, thank you for your thoughts.

When you apply for H1 transfer..they transfer the current H1.
If you have more than 6 months on ur H1 you cannot apply for extension..
when you file for transfer.
So better option would be:
a.) Transfer H1...and then file for extension.
b.) Or file for extension and then change jobs...
if you havent filed for 485.. then you have to restart the GC..and recapture your PD.... i used the option B.

My 140 is approved, 6th year expires in March 09, 485 has not been filed due to retrogression and there is a potential for a layoff. Can I transfer 140 to a new employer and file 3 yr extension at the same time?
If you have more than 6 months on ur H1 you cannot apply for extension..
when you file for transfer.
So better option would be:

I agree this is illegal and there have been many cases where applications have been denied for fraud. I knwo that is not your intention but USCIS considers this sort of "arrangement" a fraud.

consider filing a claims suit. The business model of insurance companies is to deny claim and if you persist, they might budge.
I also got liason for my mother but never used it. This time we used icicilombard and didn't use it also. But how can high fever be considered pre-existing condition.........file a lawsuit and let them prove that fever is pre-existing. Don't go down easily with such cheats.
