Today my attorney said that if it hasnt moved for two visa bulletins in the fiscal year then he is almost sure (using 27 year experience in immigration) that it will not move much this year.

this year is "special". The July VB filings, the rush of approvals in teh last 2-3 months... lots of things have happened this year that have never happened in the past.

I had observed this last summer also that most of the CPO emails are received at night. In my opinion, it is probably due to the fact that they run these external communications as batch jobs at night, which is usually the case in any high volume corporate type IT systems.
So guys, relax and check you emails at night :-)
Some of the candidates who received their approval emails posted on this forum some time back that they received that emails on week end. Might be batch jobs.

PD cutoff date moved by 9 months. this is great news for PERM applications with PDs in late 2005. this also tells us that the state dept will move cutoff dates significantly in the last few months of the year so visas will not go to waste.

Look forward to see the release of processing time.

Thanks fo rthe reply, in my case, it was not a mistake by the registrar, my grand parents just happened to give ' a name' and when my parents enrolled me at school, they gave my current name. I am not sure, if I hav a official govt doc saying my current name is the changed name from my old name, will this help as a valid document.

E-filed EAD on 24th April.
Supporting documents received on Apr 28th.
Received EAD receipt on April 30.
Last year I remember receing the receipt and biometric appt letter together.
Has anyone who efiled for EAD renewal this year have received biometrics appointment?

What nonsense is this.
Isn't this supposed to be a public forum that people can join and share updates. There is no disclaimer that one needs to donate to participate in discussions on this forum.
If donations are mandatory - this would have been a paid only website and access to all should have been restricted. I bet the participation and visibility of a useful site like this would be detrimental in this case.
I said contribution, not donation. Money is not the only way to contribute.

Slumdog...I totally agree with your view point and in fact share the same. I believe you cannot put your life on hold waiting for GC or something unpredictable. I also agree with you that buying a house is a life style decision. You can live ur life hoarding cash living cheaply or you can live your life well. Also each has its advantages and its a personal choice.

Some of the interviews with USCIS officials on july bulletin feaso, noted saying "not waiting for security clearence" adjudicated the cases working overtime during end of June. I guess all this will play against and they are in deep trouble now.

let me take a guess - at the minimum - 2 years for your PD and 4-5 years for my PD.
I am quite confused. My date is June 2002 first week .
Not sure if it makes sense to Port to Eb2 , but big uknown is how long it would take PD to move up to June 2002.

Sorry to hear about your husband susie. Inspite of your grief, you have the courage to take up this issue which will benefit a lot of people. My son aged out before my labor was approved. I filed for labor in april 2001. It was approved in 2007. My I-140 was approved under PERM and I filed for I/485 in May 2007. My son aged out in August 2006 Thanks

We got to get the ability of filing 485 without current priority date...I still have very little hopes of the priority date being current even if this bill get passed in conference..and dependents are still part of the cap..
Frankly speaking I am not excited about this bill that much....I would read further during the day...

Besides no one is going to listen to us unless we maintain a long term relationship with many lawmakers by meeting them regularly all across the country. only then will they listen to us as representatives of IV and introduce Bills like this and co-sponsor and vote for it. It also has to do with building relations and trust.
Thats the only way to get them to pass Bills for us.
This is a process that can take months of work to get a Bill introduced and get enough people to vote for it.
Just calling them at the last minute and saying 'lets push for this' or 'why is IV not acting' is not going to do much help without the previous step.
This is an ongoing process that needs to to be done over a long period and its about getting enough votes in house and senate 216+60 to pass. that is how we ensure close to 300 lawmakers will vote for our cause.

One of my close friends is considering running the DC 10 miler with me. She never ran or walked a race before. Hopefully she will decide to atleast walk before the end of the day. That will be good for both of us

Why do I get a feeling you are incapable of digesting the concept of "Law of the land". There are certain rules that govern PR & Citizenship statuses ( of all countries)and only land mark & ground breaking edicts can alter such law’s , and that too very slightly. I do not know if I am doing something against the rules of this forum, please excuse if I am. I am just a father trying to do something to protect his daughter; but I know that there are many other children who are or were under similar circunstances. I am not a lawyer. My wife, my daughter and I went to talk to our Representative Moran and our Senator Webb, but they are interested in numbers, cases, especially Virginia residents; but I think that this is something national. We (my family, I and anyone who wants to join us) can go to the office of the Leader of the Senate Majority or the House or to the office of any other committe leader and give them a letter showing numbers and cases, real families that are suffering and requiring them to do something about it. If you agree, I would suggest to prepare a small database with all the cases that we know, then prepare a letter and send it to the Congress leaders.
