Please don't put any sensational heading on your post if you don't know what you are saying.
This has been discussed a lot here and is nothing new. There is always a possibility that USCIS can issue a mid-month VB and discontinue taking 485. It has not happened before, but is certainly possible.
If you thought, the dates will be current from here on to perpetuity...I have no words for you..

Honestly I don't even see a point for these discussions, polls or predictions for EB3-I. The sooner we accept we are doomed the better. The only way out is to help ourselves but I don't think many EB3's are willing to do that.
I spoke to several in my office with earlier EB3 PD's (who might not even get GC's in the next 5-10 years !) and of course with EAD's and they have literally substituted EAD for a GC. They were once a part of IV (and some similar org's ?!) but now have completely lost hope and don't care. I tried to motivate them to join IV and support but they feel that IV does not cater to EB3's anymore. Sadly they are not even trying to port to EB2. They are just content with a job and EAD.
So, I am not really sure how many of us are actually willing to fight ?!
In fact it's even worse for people like me who are still waiting to file their I-485. Is it going to take us 5,10 or 20 years just to get an EAD ?!
This is a bunch of nonsense you hear. These folks who tell you this have not even bothered to check the truth with IV or bothered to spend their precious time doing something constructive. They basically do not need greencard and Greencard is not important to them. Don't waste your energy trying to convince them. They are better off watching visa bulletins every month and blaming their karma. Our aim is not to have million members who do nothing and just criticize. But have a positive bunch that is sincere, committed and works to fix the problem.

I don't think ppl understand how painful the wait in BEC's has been.
I am really apalled by the ppl in this thread who are saying don't complain about BEC. Their reaction can be summarized as follows:

Application form is asking for address to be printed and other address. I am planning to keep my India address (my place) on my passport. I use my passport as a address proof in Inida. It means i need to fill it in address to be printed coulum.
What is the other address. Are they going to print this in passport as well. If they are going to print this in passport, can i give my India address here as well? People graduate from colleges in India and come here on H1s, many of them dont have either a masters degree or 5 years of experience, so have no choice but to file in EB3. Many big companies take a conservative approach with the position that has been advertised, and if it is a "junior" level position insist on EB3 (even if the person filing was eligible for EB2). Strictly speaking thats correct, as its the position that determines EB level, not just the person.
Its people with US Masters, or who have done their BS <2002 who have a shot at EB2. That data was specifically for EB2 India PD distribution. That does not mean the EB3 India line is smaller or will move any faster. There are enough people in EB2 pipeline to keep USCIS busy and that category retrogressed (with current quotas)

Looks like approvals has slowed down further.
This is why at the end of the year there are unused visas. All due to inefficiencies of USCIS.
We are doomed.

I am very happy to let you know guys that I did receive the card prodcution ordered for my EAD after waiting so long .

Its great that someone is actively looking into this, but will the whole 'security' issue backfire if USCIS decides it would rather waste the visa numbers than getting into this kind of mess in the future by processing everything swiftly?

No. It was changed in the middle of 2008. The DOS consulted with the Congress on this and came to the conclusion that there should be horizontal spillover before vertical. I don't want to go into whether this was right or wrong, fair or not. This is the current policy.
You can see ample evidence in the annual visa allocation once you compare 2005/2006/2007/2008 allocations. EB3-ROW and EB3-ICMP benefited till 2007 because of vertical spillover and EB2-I & EB2-C have been the beneficiaries of the horizontal spillover policy since 2008.
I think spillover method has not been changed since years. The only puzzle is that whether it is horizontal or vertical or combination of both that USCIS works with we exactly do not know.

In my opinion equal share of spillover count to oversubscribed EB categories for a particular year would be the final and legitimate solution.

after the jobs ads and waiting period (30 + 30 days) how long does it take for the perm approval to come thru. Can anyone who got their labour in perm update the complete sequence of process from start to end?? I appreciate their time in advance.
