I think the issue here is, logiclife is flooded with these requests and has retrogressed accepting flowers - he will be announcing priority dates soon - and probably per country limits also. So please keep cjecking the special bulletin logiclife will release every month :)

I just called them now. I was lucky enough to talk to the operator. She said I should be getting it in a week. I guess they have a back log. She couldn't tell me anything else. BTW my application was received on Sep 11th. Money order was cashed on Sep 23rd. Still in process not shipped yet. I called 713-626-2148 and pressed 1 then 9 and when it asked for voice mail or operator I pressed 0 for operator. I kept pressing 0 until someone answered.

Should we blame Elaine Chao or Michael Chertoff? I both think should share the blame, both departments reflects incompetence personified. Look at his (Chertoff) recent defense of shifting homeland security money to Omaha and not to new york and DC.

I am starting this thread to get familiarized with the 485 process.
My Labor is approved, 140 is also approved.
My PD is not current, so I can not file 485.
Now before I file 485, what are the things to do and when?
With little knowledge I have, we need to do the following:
1. Finger Printing
2. Medicals
What else needs to be done. Anyone who already applied 485, can sugguest what are in our hands to do before filing 485.

Please dont get distracted by posts of few "idiots" who do not know who you are and what you have done to help folks on h4 and h1. They are new and they are not aware of your good intentions, only folks who have been following this forums for a long time know about you.
so you need not prove to anyone who you are or what you do, we all know about you and are really grateful for what you have done already.
I just have one request - can we eliminate the fact that our PD has to become current to apply for AOS, so that dependents of 485 filed members who have still not filed 485 can file now and atleast get a EAD/AP/SSN and they can start their careers. This should not be that tough, since anyway one day they got to file and it also brings money to USCIS.
So my request is,

First, I am not promising to solve anything. I am just saying that I will bring up the issues when I have my meeting. If this thread is a distraction, then feel free to ignore it.
Second, those who have participated in this forum over the past year know about the issues I was working on.
Third, the forum moderators have my contact information and I have corresponded directly with them (Aman Kapoor). If you don't believe I am who I say I am, feel free to contact the mods.
I am not sure what the point is about "innocent Indians." Does it really matter if I am Canadian? Is this forum restricted to South Asians?

you can send separately. On other forums I read that somebody receiving emails... but it emails doesn't arrive in 24hrs.... as the form mentions...

The instructions listed says that G1145 is for one of the three lockbox facilities and Dallas is not listed as one of them. However there is one for Lewisville, TX.
Did anyone actually get a email/text message from Dallas lockbox (or for that matter any other lockbox)?

At the outset, I fully sympathize with ur situation. It is just a pathetic state of affair and very unfortunate. It eats my heart out to see that future of our aged out children in the USA is affected by the stupid immigration rules and hence affecting their lives and career.
Having said that, if you are looking for IV or Core to do something about it, I would like u to consider few things:
a) IV is purely made up of volunteers and whatever any time we can get after a day long work or taking care of family matters , we dedicate to IV matters.
b) This implies, the issues that concern most of the people are generally taken on priority. Moreover, the unfortunate truth is that there is also self interest involved. Everyone is a victim here and would like to further self cause over other. If the self cause of majority is aligned, that makes into the agenda. After all, after lots of efforts if you get to meet any lawmaker just once for 15 minutes , which agenda would you push for?
Having said that I would recommend you to form a group to lobby your cause. I am sure IV will lend it support to let it run its banner. But the strategy, labor and money would be coming from the victims.
I have been continuously requesting in my previous postings that CORE Team should take up the issue of sufferings of children who have turned 21 and who could not file 485 applications due to visa retrogression. I do appreciate that this may not impact a large number of our members and CORE is committing its recourses for a much wider issue of over all visa number increase. I am just wondering if I could file 485 (if my PD becomes current and stays current only for a short period as it happened in July) and have my CP case also alive.
My CP case is already in Consulate (after processing Form 230) which means I am just awaiting an interview. 485 is to safeguard my GC against any unforeseen odds and risks. Is that possible?
Or, can I file another LC (under EB2) and once I140 is approved (using prior PD), can I interfile (in CP)?
I just wanted to have the safety net that 485 provides or move to EB2 so that interview can be expected in the next year or so -if my new I140 is approved by then!

How long was your I 140 pending and what is the dob of child?
Not sure if I have given full details of my sons case but here is the situation
1. In 1998 husband moved to us on L 1 visa
2. In 2000 company filed I 140 for husband and approved 2001, within one year of I 140 approval filed I 485' for all residing in the USA at that time and concurrently file I 824 for minor child abroad - was was to follow to join-
per instructions on I 485 application
3. The child's I 824 was pending at enactment of cspa with no final determination, so should be covered under limited exception
4. Oct 2002, received letter from uscis, (did NOT say son aged out) to say file new I 824 once husband had his green card. Sons age for cspa EB3 20years 8 months
It appears the file became separated, (IN error) so son's I 824 was worked before husband's file was complete
5. Sent new I 824 when hubby got green card and this was approved Aug 04
6. As , no news from consulate/NVC by Jan 05, got congressman's help and took till Oct 05 to received an e-mail from consulate to say son aged out
Was getting paperwork ready to file law suit when husband died very suddenly. They agree with 95% of our claim but say now hubby is dead so is the case.
My attorney say's we are suing for the mistakes and so not relevant that husband has since passed, I will let you know how the case goes

I tried to get many of my friends in OHIO to enroll, but they just don't trust these efforts. I tried to convince them a lot but, they think everything will be resolved automatically and especially does not want to contribute even a $ for these kind of efforts. It's a shame on us that we tend to be the same backhome as well as here. Just use and use for free and never contribute anything back.
